On March 20th, the SALIS community came together to celebrate the 10 year Anniversary of the Salzburg International School Programme at the Bundesgymnasium Zaunergasse. It was a joyful night filled with music, laughter, and connection as we reflected on ten incredible years and looked ahead to many more to come. Guests enjoyed a wonderful atmosphere with performances from our orchestra and singers, delicious offerings from food trucks, refreshing drinks, and plenty of time to socialize and celebrate together. A heartfelt thank you goes to those who delivered such thoughtful and inspiring speeches, as well as to all of the student, parent, and staff volunteers whose hard work and support made the evening run so smoothly. It was a special night that truly captured the spirit of SALIS.
The evening also marked an exciting milestone for SALIS with the debut of our newly formed school orchestra, SoundsUnited, conducted by Mr. Kevin Lomes. Their performance of “Fanfare Festive” set a celebratory tone for the night, and they continued to impress with a diverse and engaging program. From the energy of “Wellerman” to the elegance of “Liebesleid” and the vibrancy of “Viva la Vida,” the orchestra showcased both versatility and remarkable talent. The collaboration on “Cumbia Sobre el Mar” added a unique and lively touch, highlighting the group’s creativity and spirit.
