SALIS TALKS #4 :

From Ghana and Across the Globe – Representing Africa’s Diversity of Cultures with Rock Dawuni

June 23rd, 2025

On June 23rd, we had the honour to welcome a four-time Grammy-nominated singer, artist and UN Goodwill Ambassador for the Environment in Africa, Mr. Rocky Dawuni, at our school. It was our fourth in a whole series of interesting SALIS Talks where we invite our speakers to explain to our school community how they have succeeded in making our world a better place to live in. Mr Dawuni’s is a powerful example of how music and political advocacy can inspire real change.

At our international school, our vision is to raise responsible global citizens in an interconnected world. Rocky’s talk has shown us that his work — blending music, culture, and environmental action — aligns beautifully with this mission. His visit has shown us that creativity, compassion, commitment and discipline can make a lasting impact.

Our students and the entire SALIS community have been reminded that their voices matter, and that each of us has a role to play in building a better, more sustainable future.
